Not just for porridge
Until recently, buckwheat was considered only a cereal crop. Therefore, it was not cultivated in household plots, and only strips were sown to cultivate the soil and attract pollinating insects. But it turns out that not only buckwheat grain, but also all parts of the plant have useful and healing properties.
Sowing buckwheat in Russia is traditionally cultivated for the production of cereals and products from it (noodles, cooked breakfast cereals, cereal, buckwheat flour). Its grain due to the balanced content of proteins, carbohydrates, minerals, B vitamins has dietary properties.

But buckwheat is most valued for its high content of rutin (vitamin P), which reduces the permeability of blood vessels and promotes the accumulation of vitamin C in the body, enhances its effect, and has a beneficial effect on the activity of the thyroid gland. Rutin helps in the treatment of hypertension and radiation sickness, heart failure, diabetes, rheumatism, toxicosis of pregnant women, nephritis, bacterial, viral (scarlet fever, polio, viral hepatitis) and some skin infections, frostbite and burns. In addition, it plays an important role in modern therapy, especially in connection with the use of chemotherapeutic drugs, the growth of toxic-allergic diseases, environmental degradation, and weakened immunity.
The leaves, young shoots, seedlings and flowers of buckwheat are also rich in routine. From them you can make vitamin tea, salads, powder, which is added to soups and seasonings.
In folk medicine, it has long been freshly squeezed leaves, laid in a thick layer, treat abscesses and purulent wounds, powdered from sifted flour dry leaves - diaper rash in children, and infusion of flowers - sclerosis of blood vessels.

For infusion, a dessert spoon of flowers is brewed in 0.5 l of boiling water, kept for 2 hours in a closed vessel and filtered. Take warm half a cup 3 times a day.
Buckwheat tea useful for sunstrokes, quartz burns, x-rays. Flowers and (or) buckwheat leaves -10 g (1 tbsp. L.) Are poured into 100 ml of water and boiled for 15 minutes in a water bath. The amount of rutin in such tea reaches 500 mg / 100 ml, which fully provides the daily requirement of the body.
Alcohol tincture helps to normalize metabolism, strengthens the walls of blood vessels, improves blood circulation and digestion. An air-dry mass of buckwheat flowers (5 tbsp. Tablespoons) is poured into 100 ml of vodka, insisted for 2 weeks, filtered, the remaining raw materials are squeezed. Take 1 teaspoon a day before meals.
Seedlings buckwheat contains a complex of vitamins, enzymes, phytohormones. Their use in food strengthens the walls of blood vessels, reduces the permeability and fragility of capillaries, increases immunity, energizes and invigorates.

Seeds germinate for five days in a dark place at 20 ° and clear of shells. A tablespoon of seedlings provides a daily requirement for vitamin.
Powder for baking bread helps to eliminate toxins from the body, normalizes digestion. Bakery products are prepared in the traditional way from wheat flour with the addition of up to 10% powder from the husk of buckwheat grain (there are a lot of it in factories where buckwheat is processed), ground in a coffee grinder.
Buckwheat does not require a separate or additional place on personal plots, it is sown along the border of beds and after harvesting early vegetables, as it is a great intermediate culture. Buckwheat is unpretentious, does not require special care and manages to bloom before the onset of cold weather. At the same time, it is an excellent green manure (enriches the soil with phosphorus, improves its structure, and cleanses it of infection). You can grow any kind of buckwheat for vitamin products.
